@Youtube : This type of music originated in colonial Ecuador in the 1800's and is a fusion of the european Saravande which is a dance in triple meter and ecuadorean music such as the Yaraví. The Yaraví in Ecuador is unique from other andean regions in that it follows a 6/8 time signature and accentuates the 1st, 3rd, and 4th beats of each measure.
